Other Can’t-Miss First Look Photos

Everyone knows that the first look with your fiance can make an amazing photo and a special memory. But here are a few other ideas of first look photos that can make amazing keepsake wedding photos.

First look with your dad: A snapshot of your dad seeing you for the first time in your wedding look is priceless. It’s a moment you’ll remember forever, and a way to thank him for being such an important part of your life. Bonus: you can frame the photo and give it to him as a thank-you gift after your wedding!

First look with your bridesmaids: The shots of groups of bridesmaids seeing the bride in her dress for the first time are so much fun. Of course, this also takes some logistical planning (your maids won’t be able to help you put your dress on, for instance) but the shot of their faces when they see you ready to stroll down the aisle is total cover-photo material.

First look with your grandparentsYour grandma has been waiting her whole life to see you in a wedding gown. Go all out and capture the moment on camera. That photo is something you’ll treasure long after she’s gone, and you’ll love showing it to your own grandkids one day!

First look with your flower girl: If you have a flower girl in your wedding, chances are she’s someone that looks up to you. Giving her a special moment where the two of you see each other for the first time will thrill her. Take the opportunity to give her a small gift and watch her eyes light up. Being a flower girl is a huge deal to little girls—let her have her moment in the sun! She’ll be totally dreaming about her day as a bride.

First look with both parents: Maybe mom hasn’t seen your dress yet and you want both of your parents to see you for the first time together. This is such a fun way to have both parents get to have a special moment with you before your day starts.

Groom and mom first look: Sometimes you need to let the groom in on something special too. His mom may not have seen him in a tux before and letting them have a moment before the wedding can be special to them. She will love getting that special moment with her baby boy.

Other first look photos can be so special to important people in your life. Think about whom you want to share that moment with and talk to your photographer about the special photos you would like to have.
