Ariel and Helaman were married this week (a Monday wedding) at the beautiful Brighton Abbey in Aubrey, Texas. This was our first time at this venue since they remodeled it and it looks so amazing!! They did such a great job on all the updates. These are some of my first of many Brighton Abbey Wedding photos!
I asked them to tell me about their first date and here is what Ariel said:
“We met at an Olive Garden for lunch and I stepped out of my car and the FIRST thing Helaman says is “YOU’RE SO SMALL” and then lifts me up. We were there for almost 2 hours just talking at the table. We went back to his apartment and he tried to convince me to watch Star Wars. I told him that was second date material and he held me to it. we spent probably 8 hours together that day.”
Then, I asked about the proposal, and here is how that happened:
“We were watching Tangled in our pajamas and cuddling on the couch and he stops the movie. I think he’s getting up to go to the bathroom but when he gets back he has a box in his hand and he gets down on one knee and I ugly cried. He knew that was the exact kind of proposal I wanted. Not very glamorous , but we wouldn’t have it any other way.”
I met these two to discuss their wedding and quickly noticed how much these two were head of heels for the over. They couldn’t stop staring at each other and constantly cuddling. It makes such a huge difference in photos when couples are so effortless together.
The weather was great for their big day and Chevy and I got right to work. Ariel looked like a princess with her castle behind her. I was able to have a mini bridal session with her. Helaman had a great time with his friends and spent the entire time laughing.
They chose the traditional option of him seeing her as she walked down the aisle but we were able to get a few shots of them together without seeing each other. I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone smile so big. Their ceremony was beautiful and then its was time for photos. Since it get’s dark so early, we had to do things different and use lots of flash but I love how their portraits turned out.
The reception was full of all of their guests visiting and then it was time to dance. This group had a great time on the dance floor and we ended the night with a private last dance.
