During Alex and Nate’s engagement session, I quickly fell in love with this couple. Â I felt like I’ve known them forever. Â Their wedding was at The Milestone in Aubrey and it was pure perfection. Â The Milestone looked amazing with the help of Andy’s Floral Events. Â Lynn and Jackie made all the bridesmaids and the bride look amazing. Â It was such a beautiful ceremony and then a party for a reception. Â It was a perfect day for one perfect couple.
How they met:
Nate and Alex met at the Sheppard AFB Dental Clinic. Nate was at the clinic for his rescheduled teeth cleaning, and Alex was there for a 2 day residency program. Her friend Bri was the hygienist that cleaned Nate’s teeth. Throughout his appointment Bri passed Alex in the clinic and told her that she really needed to meet her patient. Alex reminded Bri that she had already determined she didn’t want to date a guy in the military! Bri told her, “I’m tellin’ ya girl, you would really like him, and he EVEN flosses!” Alex brushed it off and finished with her patient, while Bri was finishing with Nate. At the end of his appointment Nate was asked to sit in the waiting room while the hygienist finished with the evaluation and paperwork. Â All of the hygienists were in the back room finishing up paperwork from the day, meanwhile giggling about Bri’s cute patient and looking at the base map to decide which spots they wanted to visit. Â The weekend prior, Nate had gone to a friend’s house to play poker and happened to meet Troy, the director of the residency program at the Sheppard Clinic. Troy overheard the girl’s conversation, put two and two together, and took it upon himself to ask his new friend Nate if he would mind giving the girls a base tour. Â Nate agreed and scrambled out to his car to quickly remove his sweaty clothes, trash, and anything else he didn’t think they would approve of and threw it all in the trunk. He then drove around to the back of the clinic to pick up the girls. Â As Alex was holding the base map with everything circled they wanted to see, Bri pushed her towards the front seat, and the base tour began! However, Alex did agree that he was a handsome fellow. Â He drove them past the flight line, showed them the training planes, explained the mission of the base and drove them by his office. All the while they were begging to find a flight of marching trainees…which he drove around until he found them that too! Â When Nate dropped them back off at the clinic the girls thanked him for the tour, and got out of the car…all but Alex. Nate had had an eye for her ever since he saw her call another patient out of the waiting room, and was excited throughout the entire base tour. With Alex left in the car he wasn’t going to miss out on the opportunity to let her know that if she ever wanted to come back and see more of the base she could call his number, which he conveniently wrote on the back of the base map she was holding (He accidentally forgot to ask for her name though!) Â Later that evening Nate drove to the dorms and told a friend the story of his day. Coincidentally he knew Alex and showed Nate her facebook to confirm it was indeed her! Alex decided she would go out on a limb and text him remembering that he didn’t ask for her name, she was in turn surprised to find out the story of meeting the mutual friend and already knowing who she was. Later on in the week Nate asked her out to dinner, and the rest is history!
How Nate proposed:
Nate took Alex on the scavenger hunt of her life on February 21, 2015. It was one year to the day of our very first date!
The whole week prior Alex had asked Nate what he wanted to do for their one year anniversary and he made it out to be “NO BIG DEAL” and said they would figure out something simple to do to celebrate (all to throw her off!)  When Alex woke up on the morning of their anniversary she found a card that told her to dress up and meet him for breakfast. As they finished eating breakfast the waitress gave her a second card, and it told her that they were going back to the place that they first met.  He drove the same route as he did the day he took her on the base tour.  When they finished the tour he gave her another card that told her they were going back to the place they first kissed.  After they went back outside her old apartment door, he gave her another card that told her they were going to Don Jose, their favorite spot in Wichita Falls to get margaritas! As they were having a drink, at 10:00am, he slipped the next card under her napkin when she wasn’t looking. It informed her that they were going on a trip. Inside the card he had written out two coordinates to type into my map, and they hit the road!  One hour later they arrived at Meer’s restaurant outside of Lawton, Oklahoma.  It was a place that they had wanted to try together for quite some time.  As they were waiting on their food Nate was secretly texting his friend and photographer that was waiting at the top of the mountain. Alex did not understand why he was getting so anxious about our food taking so long!  After they finished lunch he then took her to the final destination…the Wichita mountains. This was a place that Alex had yet to see in the four years she spent in Wichita Falls.  As they were driving to the top she was thinking wow if he does this for a “no big deal” anniversary she wondered what he will do to propose? Her head was in the clouds! He did a great job of throwing her off!  Nate told her to follow him and climb on top of this specific rock overlooking the valley below. Since she had a dress on and he had a broken collarbone she gave him a little bit of a hard time. However, the photographer was already prepositioned, so he stood there until he convinced her to get on the rock! He then gave her another sweet card and wrote about the past year they had spent together. At the end of the card, it told her to ask for the final card, and as she opened it he got down on one knee, with the ring of her dreams, and asked her to marry him!
